I'm pleased to announce my show "Hexen" at Wasteland Gallery will be opening March 7th and will remain on display until March 31st. This show will be a mix of newer and older work, paintings, drawings, and prints. We hope to see you there!
The show is officially open! We had the opening reception last night. Thank you to those of you who were able to make it in person! For the rest of you who are unable to view these works, I've added all of the new paintings to my "Personal Work" gallery on this website. I've also added prints and other merchandise available to the store.
The original works and the "familiars" drawings will only be available for purchase for the duration of the show through the gallery, so if you're interested in purchasing an original, please email me with any questions and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Thank you again, and I hope you enjoy the new work.
Here's a preview of "Hecate: Goddess of the Gates" which will be on display at my show in October. I'll also have limited edition prints available of this painting, as well as a few others. Details coming soon!
So, I couldn't help myself - I had to post a sneak peek of my painting "Sacrificial" which will be available as a print in October. I just had the photographs of the varnished painting taken today and they turned out really well. The color is much more vibrant in person, but I hope this detail gets the intensity across.
I'm gearing up to put the finishing touches on the last few paintings and sending off a few for print proofs next week. I'm excited! Not only is the opening coming up pretty fast, my favorite month is as well.
Just a teaser of the finished painting. This is my exaggerated interpretation of the Norse goddess Hel, daughter of Loki, ruler of the Underworld.
The rest of the paintings from the show will be up for viewing when the show opens on October 3rd!
Penumbra - A partial shadow between regions of complete darkness and complete illumination. From the Latin word umbra, meaning shadow.
I've wanted to return to traditional media for a while - a break from digital illustration - and really just tackle some ideas that I have always been enamored with. I wanted to explore this idea in the context of actual creatures and personas that might linger in a place between light and dark. Are they transitioning? Do they exist here fully, or do they waiver from one side to the next? My personal work has explored this theme many times; I've always liked the idea of beings in the in-between.
The works will be on display at 303 North Studio in Las Vegas from October 3rd - November 30th. The opening reception will take place October 3rd from 6pm - 10pm. I will have originals, prints, and sketches available. For those of you unable to see the show in person, I will be launching a web gallery of the series as well as releasing some prints online for purchase.
I hope to see you there if you are able to make it!
